Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

At the foot of Mt. Iiji, spreads Maiko Plateau where Maiko Onsen rests. It's located at Niigata Prefecture's Echigo Yuzawa known as a skii and hot spring town.

The plateau is enjoyable throughout the year - skiing on the abundant snow in winter and trecking and other sports leisure in spring and summer.

Around the Maiko plateau, farmers produce rice, and Koshihikari from Minami-Uonuma is Japan's major brand. Prestine nature and the plenty of water from melted snow nurture this rice, the gourmet only available in this area.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Maiko Onsen has a simple, low-alkaline spring, which is tender to the skin, leaving it smooth and soft. Soak in there and enjoy four seasons - fresh sprouting greens, vivid red leaves, or snow scapes.
