Motoyu Yamadaya Ryokan is an inn of hot spring and gourmet which holds a history of approx.300 years. It stands between the mountains where the sound of the river echoes. The guestroom of the building of 250 years has been renovated by the hands of an architect of Hitachiota, and was reborn into a Japanese modern room where the history and modernism blend. Enjoy the aroma of the Japanese cedar and hinoki of local products. Dinner is an Okukuji kaiseki cuisine. The food which is delicious and is pleasing to the eye use abundant local food and is placed into a plate that brings out the best of the food. Please enjoy the food in which the chef paid attention to the details. Yamadaya Ryokan is recognized as the "Inn for hot spring therapy". Yokokawa onsen is a transparent sulfur spring that is proud of its top-class alkaline percentage. You will experience the beautiful skin effect taking a bath in the hot spring of smooth texture. There are many sightseeing spots such as the "Fukuroda no Taki," "Ryujin Ootsurihashi" and "Hananuki gorge" where you may enjoy the changes of seasonal expressions. You will be fulfilled by using this inn as the base for sight-seeing.

All of the cuisines use selected food such as the fresh seafood caught in the morning at the local fishing port, vegetables made by the farmer of Hitachiota, and Koshihikari rice which is a product of Ibaraki. It is an alkaline simple sulfur spring with an alkaline pH value 10.1. It is very smooth and will warm you body thoroughly. You may view the gorge and the small water fall from the bathroom where it is a well up to the 2nd floor. The hot spring is a natural hot spring which is transparent and is recommended for guests wishing wellness and beautiful skin effect. Hot spring cure and day baths are welcome. Established in 1753 As the hot spring area of Abukuma mountains, it is said to have been discovered by Hachiman Taro. After the victory of the fall of Oushu Abe, the spring water was found along the river side and when the injury was healed, it has been said that that it has completely cured in 4 days. And therefore it is named as the "Hot spring of four days". And is was 1753 that the ancestor, Kobayashi Chogoro, built a roof over the spring water and run a business.Read moreClose
